O Iesu trugarog Fab Dafydd

O Iesu trugarog, Fab Dafydd,
  Ti wisgaist fy natur dy hun;
Cyfryngwr y testament newydd,
  Fy Mhrynwr sy'n Dduw ac yn ddyn:
Ti fedru gyd-deimlo
    â ngwendidau,
  Er amled a chymmain' y ma'n';
O arwain fy enaid dy hunan,
  I'r bywyd trag'wyddol yn lân.

Ti gefast dy demtio dy hunan,
  Do ddeugain niwrnod yn wir,
Hen satan er cymmaint ei amcan
  A ffaelodd a'th gwympo di'n glir;
Fe safodd fy Mrenin ei hunan,
  Gorchfygodd hiliogaeth y ddraig,
Fe brynodd y bywyd trag'wyddol;
  O caned preswylwyr y graig.

Rhyfeddod a bery'n ddiddarfod
  Yw'r ffordd a gymmerodd efe
I gadw pechadur colledig
  Trwy farw ei hun yn ei le!
Gofchfygodd holl allu'r tywyllwch,
  Pechadur gollyngodd yn rhydd,
Fe dalodd ei ddyled yn gyflawn,
  Ar satan ynnillodd dydd.

Ein Samson galluog ni ydyw,
  Fe faeddodd y cadarn cyn hyn;
Dywedodd ei hunan, Gorphenwyd,
  Dan hoelion ar Galfari fryn:
Tywysog llywodraeth yr awyr,
  Yn eithaf ei gryfder a'i lid,
Fe 'sigwyd a rhwygwyd ei deyrnas
  Trwy angeu
      Iachawdwr y byd.

Daeth blwyddyn y caethion i ganu,
  Doed meibion y gaethglyd ynghyd
Ni seiniwn y nefoedd a'r ddaear
  O foliant i Brynwr y byd:
Mae Brenin y nef yn y fyddin,
  Gwae satan a'i filwyr yn awr,
Trugaredd a hedd sy'n teyrnasu,
  Mae undeb rhwng nefoedd a llawr.

Y Llew o lwyth Juda gorchfygodd;
  Pa elyn all sefyll o'i fla'n?
Mae Seion yn teithio tuag adref
  Mewn cerbyd dychrynllyd o dân
Alarwyr cyfodwn ein pennau,
  Fe dderfydd ein cystudd a'n poen,
Ni thraetha angylion na dynion
  Happusrwydd priodas-ferch yr Oen.

Tôn [9898D]: Cyfamod (<1876)

gwelir:
  O agor fy llygaid i weled
  Rhyfeddod a bery'n ddiddarfod

O merciful Jesus, Son of David,
  Thou didst wear my nature thyself;
Mediator of the new testament,
  My Redeemer who is God and man:
Thou wast able to sympathise
    with weaknesses,
  Despite how frequent and great they are;
O lead my soul thyself,
  To the eternal life purely.

Thou didst get tempted thyself,
  Yes two score days truly,
Old Satan despite his purpose
  Did fail to make thee fall clearly;
My King himself stood,
  He overcame the progeny of the dragon,
He purchased the eternal life;
  O may the inhabitants of the rock sing!

A wonder which shall endure perpetually
  Is the way which he took
To keep a lost sinner
  Through his own death in his place!
He overcame all the power of the darkness,
  A sinner he released freely,
He paid his debt fully,
  Over Satan he won the day.

Our powerful Samson he is,
  He beat the strong before now;
He himself said, "It is finished,"
  Under nails on Calvary hill:
The prince of the government of the air,
  Extreme his strength and his anger,
Crushed and rent was his kingdom
  Through the death of
      the Saviour of the world.

The year came for the captives to sing,
  Let the sons of the exile come together
Let us, the heavens and the earth, resound
  From praise to the Redeemer of the world:
The King of heaven is in the army,
  The woe of Satan and his soldiers now,
Mercy and peace are reigning,
  There is unity between heaven and earth.

The Lion of the tribe of Judah overcame;
  What enemy can stand before him?
Zion is travelling towards home
  In a terrible chariot of fire
Mourners, let us raise our heads,
  Our tribulation and our pain shall end,
Neither angels nor men shall express
  The happiness of the bride of the Lamb.

O Jesus, merciful Son of David,
  Thou didst wear my nature thyself;
Mediator of the new testament,
  My Redeemer, who is God and man:
Thou canst sympathise with my weakness,
  In the midst of every adversity,
      true it is,
And lead me to life eternal,
  To the endless age to live.
